My client is seeking a skilled Technical Manager to oversee the daily operations of the technical department at their beverage manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of managerial experience in the beverage industry, with a strong background in maintenance management and Krones machinery.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the technical department, ensuring optimal performance of all systems and equipment, including 5 Krones filling lines and an additional 6th line under development.
  • Maintenance Planning: Plan and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and high equipment availability.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for the entire plant, covering utilities, compressors, chillers, boilers, water treatment plants, effluent treatment plants (ETP), generators, and electrical installations.
  • Spare Parts Management: Maintain a healthy inventory of spare parts for all equipment to facilitate quick repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Training and Staffing: Facilitate training programs and ensure adequate staffing levels to support smooth plant operations.
  • Breakdown Management: Ensure timely resolution of equipment breakdowns to maintain high operational efficiency.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all equipment meets statutory requirements and industry standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain proper documentation in accordance with ISO standards, ensuring all processes and procedures are clearly recorded.
  • Department Discipline: Uphold discipline within the technical department, promoting a culture of accountability and safety.
  • Customer Complaint Resolution: Assist in addressing and resolving customer complaints in collaboration with the production and quality departments.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical) or a related field.
  • Advanced Degree (Master’s or MBA) is a plus but not always necessary
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within the beverage industry.
  • Familiarity with Krones machinery is a significant advantage.
  • Strong technical knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
